Local Missions

 

The purpose of Missions at Fellowship Church is to train and equip ordinary people to go and do extraordinary things in the name of Jesus so that all might see, hear, and experience God’s love in tangible ways.  We have several opportunities to demonstrate the love of God at the local level here in our community of Kyle. We believe one of the keys to transforming lives for Jesus is through serving others through loving our neighbors as ourselves. Below are some of the many ways by which we serve our community.  We welcome your questions and are thankful for your support!

Local Mission Opportunities

Assisted Living Visit

Once a month we provide a chapel service for residents at Orchard Park in Kyle. This includes worship, prayer, and bringing a short message from God to them.  Afterwards, we stay for a short visit to love them and listen to their stories.  This is an opportunity to remind the residents God has not forgotten them, nor has He abandoned them. We believe in sharing the Love of Jesus with the residents of Orchard Park. God has moved powerfully through these services.

Texas Ramp Project

The Texas Ramp Project helps build wheelchair ramps for disabled or elderly people who can’t afford to buy one. In a few hours on a Saturday morning, they give these folks the freedom to leave their home again—the home where they want to remain but whose steps have imprisoned them.  We come along side with them and help every month to help construct and paint.

Austin Disaster Relief Network

Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN), a nonprofit organization, is comprised of over 185 Greater Austin churches and thousands of trained volunteers bringing hope into crisis. ADRN sponsors families affected by disaster through their Disaster Relief Shepherd program. They serve Christ by providing survivors with immediate financial assistance, emergency housing and transportation, emotional and spiritual care and connects families with vital resources to help rebuild their lives and their homes.

Tru Choice Pregnancy Center

True Choice is a center located in San Marcos. They educate, support, and empower women and men facing pregnancy decisions.  They offer an abortion clinic alternative.  They offer pregnancy test, ultrasounds, post abortion support.  Community Support helps ensure their ability to meet the needs of local woman and men facing unplanned pregnancy decisions.  There are many ways to help the center daily, weekly, or monthly.

Barton Middle School

We currently have been developing a partnership with Barton Middle School.  We have helped them by serving the staff breakfast at back-to-school meetings to helping the ELL (English Language Learning) learning program by serving them sodas and chips.  This relationship as it continues to grow will develop more opportunities for you to serve the students and staff.

Phoenix Stone Foundation

The Phoenix Stone Foundation is a non-profit corporation.  They offer outreach programs to support the children and the families of children who are battling childhood cancer in Texas. They also raise funds to go towards advanced pediatric oncology research and pediatric oncology nurse education. We help through serving on blood drives, occasional toy and clothing drives for the kids in the hospital, and fundraiser events. Pastoral staff will accompany the foundation as needed to hospital visits during the year.

Motorcycle Mission

To utilize the common interest of motorcycle riding as believers to serve and seek the lost, making the most of every opportunity. By riding together in partnership with other believers  and inviting those outside of the body of Christ to ride, there will be opportunities to build genuine friendships, hear and share stories and ultimately share the gospel and invite people into the body of Christ
